Each year the Pole outlines its Research Agenda, which sets up SMEs innovation paths.
In 2012 the Research Agenda consists in 8 research projects, for an amount of 5M€. These projects involve 25 participating companies and 12 university departments or research centres.

Area: Innovative materials and technologies for the construction sector

Title: CINZIA
Research topic: Design of structures, including seismic, with innovative materials
Description: Study and prototype components for prefabricated housing units, anti-seismic; including innovative concrete, for Social Housing and emergencies.

 

Title: MACPOFIN
Research topic: Analysis and characterization of innovative composite materials for construction
Description: New composite materials with natural fibres, vegetable or inorganic origin, for various applications in the construction sector.

 

Area: Innovating materials and productive processes for SMEs

Title: ArS e Design: l’arredo sostenibile
Research topic: Integrated product design
Description: Eco-design strategies for the development of new products.  Design of intelligent furniture as a sustainability strategy. New materials for environmentally friendly solutions for sustainable furniture. Application of innovative panels made with pomace in the furniture sector

 

Title: VETRIC
Research topic: Characterization and reuse of materials
Description: "Clean" recycling of ship fiberglass with reuse for other articles, increasing or decreasing the density depending on production requirements. Chemical and physical conditions to make it ideal for the production of components and printed boat hull.

 

Title: FUNFOOTECH
Research topic: Bio-related materials for nutraceutical and cosmetic applications
Description: Characterization and exploitation of the products derived from the juice of bergamot for nutraceutical and cosmetic purposes.

 

Title: NATUREFUN
Research topic: Bio-related materials for nutraceutical and cosmetic applications
Description: Development of new innovative phytocomplexes, for phyto-chemical composition and biological activity, for  the cosmetic market, using Calabrian or Mediterranean indigenous plant species.

 

Area: Micro and nano-structured materials

Title: SmartLayerCal
Research topic: Developing micro-and nano-structured materials for energy saving
Description: Development of the SMARTLAYERCAL electrochromic layer, adhesive, flexible, energy self-sufficient, controlled via Wi-Fi. Applicable to window of buildings for up to 30% energy savings.

 

Title: NUOVA LUCE
Research topic: Developing micro-and nano-structured materials for energy saving
Description: Development of a new flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) device for novel applications. Development of Light Emitting Electrochemical Cells to explore the potential of the promising LEEC technology.
